On November 5-8, 1998, Skate Canada came to Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Most of the fans were there to see their favorite Canadian skaters, Elvis Stojko and the dancing couple, Shae-Lynn Bourne and Victor Kraatz.
Elvis is a 26 year old from Richmond Hill Ontario. He finished forth in his first competition, skating with a groin injury that he got at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics; Stojko placed second over all in Kamloops.

Shae-Lynn Bourne is 22 and Victor Kraatz is 27. They placed first in their dance program. Kraatz stumbled once, but it didn't change the judge's approval.
The man that placed first was Evgeny Plushenko representing Russia.

Many people went to the Riverside Coliseum to take in the events. It was an exciting experience for the people of Kamloops to sponsor Skate Canada.
