So here you are, lost in the wonder
of having been found acceptable by such a marvelous creature as
your lifemate who is wobbly-legged
and perhaps trailing his/her wings. The total surrender to each
others minds, the heart-warming
knowledge that you'll never be alone again, a bond born in ecstasy
so deep it fills your very
core! Incredible isn't it?
Your lifemate is going to take up
a /lot/ of time. He/she will be hungry, sleepy, will be itchy,
needing oiled, constantly
wanting to be with you. Dragonets are completely enamored with their
lifemates, wanting to learn
all about them, they display little concern for other humans unless
the mate is particularly close
to that person. They are curious and unencumbered by fear and high
emotion, other than loving
their mates. Dragonets are always in comradery with other dragons
through mental speech, they
know where they stand in the weyr hierarchy (a dragonet will always
listen to his/her queen for
example). At this point and for much of their lives, they are only
concerned with their own contentment
and that of their mates and thread, when it falls. When you
receive your dragon's inspiration,
be sure to study and utilize it to get used to the personality
of your dragon. Consider the
fun things you can do with it .
Are there ways a dragonet doesn't
act? Indeed. A dragon never does anything that would endanger
his/her mate. Playing with
fire, jumping off a cliff, etc. All of that is not IC. Dragons also do
not talk to humans other than
their mates except on very rare occasions (and this is highly
discouraged), act like a puppy,
cry, talk OOCly, or pose thoughts to the world at large. Keep in
mind that dragons aren't really
sure of what to do with strong human emotions other than those
they have through the bond
with their lifemate. Mostly they either just accept them with a sigh or
are confused by them. Don't
make your dragon hyper-emotional! Dragons also don't remember names,
rather they might associate
a person as "Zoolith's rider", except perhaps during search, dragons
have been known to do some
odd things then.
