The house has been in the Whitlock Family since January 1925 it was originally the old Potts Place. Research on the history of the old home place is still ongoing but its’ suspected to have been built around the turn of the century or maybe earlier, built by Mr. Thomas Potts a prominent citizen of Newnan. Probably constructed by R. D. Cole Company and the materials were supplied by them. The information here was given by Mr. Buford Whitlock. After the recent death of his brother Dennis, Buford is the last resident of the old home place. The three other living siblings, Adell, Myrtle, and Wendell Whitlock still live close by.
