different from today's system.The reader of this part of the Index is advised to consult with the Brant County Map if locations used in the indexing are to be found on Tremaine's map.
There are two sets of concession numbers; one with the abbrev. W.F.C., meaning west of Fairchild Creek, the other containing only a number. It should be noted that Tremaine's W.F.C. numbers are
"BF"- a section of lots, marked on the modern County Map.
"MB"-for Martin's Bend, in the northwest portion of the map.
"RR*-for River range below concession 3-
Finally the township boundary, is not very clear on Tremaine's map, as it exists between the neighbouring townships. In order to simplify matters a portion of Tuscarora twp north of the river, has been indexed as part of Onondaga as well. Difficulty will occur if the information is to be related to Census returns for specific townships.
