Children of Adam Wirig Sr. and Barbara Heilemann
Adam Katherine Rose Jacob Mary Henry William John Joseph Anton

This page is dedicated to(Jean) Adam Wirig Sr. and his wife (Magaretha) Barbara Heilemann who emigrated from Spicheren, Lorraine, France and Wendlingen am Neckar in the mid 1800’s. There are less than 30 listings of the name Wirig in the U.S. phone books, and virtually everyone of these are related to this original family. The only exceptions are the Wirigs’ from Illinois who we have not been able to tie to this family.

Until recently it had been unclear whether Adam's last name was originally Wirig or Weirich. With the help of a distant Wirig cousin, Adam's lineage has finally been traced to Spicheren, Lorraine, France. Adam was born and descended from a long line of Wirig's. His lineage has been traced back to the 1600's. The name Weirich has been used by some of his descendents.

This page has been set up for fun and to share information on the Wirig family. If anyone browsing through finds any glaring informational errors, please e-mail me at the address below.
