A Call to be Ready for the Lord
A Call to Holiness

We are called to be alert and ready for Christ's return. But what does this mean?

Certainly we are strongly warned not to degenerate from Christ because: "For in the case of those who have been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God, and put Him to open shame. For ground the drinks the rain which often falls upon it and brings forth vegetation useful to those whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God; but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned. - Hebrews 6:4-8.

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I would that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. Rev. 3:13-14

Be Holy
Therefore, gird your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedianet children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in ignorace, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, "You Shall be Holy, For I am Holy." 1 Peter 1:13-16

A Charge to a soldier in Christ
I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom, preach the word, be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound docturine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accummulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn aside to myths. But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 2 Timothy 4:1-5
