God Gave Me A Gift

God gave me a gift, the gift of life. He did not promise it would hold no strife. God gave me a gift, the gift of love. He sent His Son from Heaven above. God gave me a gift, the gift of prayer, He constantly listens, He's always there. God gave me a gift, the gift of hope. He sent His spirit who helps me to cope. God gave me a gift, the gift of choice. In His infinite love, I now rejoice.

The Sparrow

I am made by God, fed by God, and cared for by Him. I soar like a plane over oceans and mountains, over treetops and houses. I travel from one place to another with the wind beneath my wings. I fly with a freedom those in captivity only dream about. I watch the sunsets and sunrises from atop the church steeples. The I place my head beneath my wings and rest.

Seven Deadly Sins

A proud look, is a dangerous thing, Heartache and pain it will surely bring, A lying tongue, is deceitful and wrong, To Satan's angels it belongs. For hands whose innocent blood they shed, Doom and destruction lies ahead. A heart that deviseth wicked imagination, To the Lord up above is an abomination. Feet that are swift in running to trouble, Gods, wrath and judgment for them will be double. A false witness that speaketh knowing lies, According to God is not very wise. He that soweth discord among his brothers, Has no love in his heart or kindness for others. (c)1993

You Did It All

You took my place upon the cross,
So my wandering soul would not be lost,
You endured so much agony and pain,
So heaven's treasure's I could gain.
You suffered and wept for all to see.
You did it all, you died for me.

One Word Of Advice

If I could give you one word of advice, It would be to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. He went to Calvary and died on the cross, So that you as a sinner would not be lost. In your time of need he will always be near, He will comfort your heart and wipe away your tears. Give HIm your heart, soul, body and mind, A truer friend you will never find. (c)1993

On Our Own

We struggle through life trying to make it on our own,
We work and slave thinking we can do it alone.
We ponder and worry about what we need,
We have bills to pay and kids to feed.
We often forget if we would only pray,
God will provide us with what we need each day.
He provides the sparrows with all that they need,
Surely He'll do the same for you and me.

Home

My home is somewhat battered and old, And often times it lets in the cold. But for riches and comfort I do not look, I stand only on the promises of God's Holy Book. It tells of a home that is bright and fair, And a Father above who hears my prayers. It offers faith for all who will heed, And a heavenly home with no heartache or greed. So I'll stay here below, and live out my days, And forever and always sing His praise. (c)1991

My Body

My body is a temple,
A vault in which to store my soul.
A warehouse for Faith, Hope and Charity.
My body is a loan from God in which to
experience love and happiness.
A tool to help and share with others.
Flesh and bone forever and always
striving toward perfection.

Dear Lord

Dear Lord...help me think about the good things not to dwell upon my sorrows. Help me to think about forever not just aobut tomorrow. Dear Lord...help me think about the sunshine not to dwell upon the rain. Help me think about helping my brother not about what I might gain. Dear Lord...help me think about heavenly things, not to dwell on earthly pleasures. Help me to focus on your love for me, not on man-made treasures.
