Our Purpose The West Suburban Illini Club (WSIC) is a member and direct associate of the University of Illinois Alumni Association. We strive to encourage and support the educational purposes of the University of Illinois, cultivate friendship and fellowship amongst club members, and express loyalty to the U of I. This is accomplished by offering a variety of educational, social, cultural, and athletic activities and programs to our members. The club also raises money to provide scholarships each year for area students attending the University of Illinois. Membership in the club is open to all former students, graduates and friends of the University of Illinois. Cost: $30/person includes Hors D'oeuvres & two drink tickets. Raffle prizes. Presentation of the Red Grange Award. Featured speaker: Dr. Craig Bazzani, former U of I CFO and current consultant to the university with a behind-the-scenes look at the academic and financial status of the university. Additional speakers: Prof. Don Kleinmuntz and Dir. Merle Giles from the Executive MBA program along with staff members from the Alumni Association and Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. Kick-off scheduled for 3:30 pm (check local TV listings) at The Fox and Hound English Pub in Aurora (northwest corner of New York Ave. & Route 59 - north of Fox Valley Mall). Scholarships The WSIC is proud to announce our scholarship winners for the 2003-2004 academic year: Jessica Hellwig of Hinckley-Big Rock H.S. and Michael Olszewski of Naperville Central H.S. each received a $500 scholarship. Congratulations to Jessica and Michael! We wish them and all the outstanding applicants the best of luck as they continue their education in Champaign-Urbana. Thank you to all who have supported the WSIC events and purchased raffle tickets over the last year. The funds raised at these events allow us participate in the Alumni Association's scholarship program and award scholarships like those mentioned above to incoming freshmen.
