My ancestor is Francis Shackelford who died in Caswell Co., NC in 1780. His wife was Eunice (I believe her last name was Terry), as there was an Olive Terry who was one of the executors of his estate. His children were: Rebeccah, Armistead, Nancy, Henry, Absolom, Abner and Betsy. When his son Abner (my ancestor) married Frances Wright in Pittsylvania Co., VA, they named their only son Abner Terry Shackelford. After Francis Shackelford died, the family moved back to Pittsylvania Co., VA where the Terry's were from. I am trying to find out who Francis Shackelford's parents were. There was another group of Shackelfords in Onslow and Carteret Co., NC, and there was also a Francis Shackelford in this group, but he is not mine. This particular Francis was the son of John Shackelford, and he died in SC.
Any help would be appreciated.
