Hi! I am new to this list and am in desperate need of help!
I have been trying for quite a few years to locate the parents of my ggg grandfather, Lewis R. Shackelford with no luck and would appreciate any help!
Lewis was born in Ohio, 27 December 1826. He married Mary Geller on the 14th of September, 1848 in Fayette County, Ohio. He died on the 13th of March 1867 in Ohio and is buried in Sugar Creek Baptist Cemetary in Fayette County, OH.
Lewis and Mary's children are - John H., born 1851, Ohio; Silas N., born April of 1854 in Tipton County, Indiana; Simon J., born January of 1857 in Indiana; Milton Asbury, born 7 April 1860 in Sparpsville P.O., Tipton County, Indiana (my line); Armilda, born 1862/3 in Indiana; and Clara O., born 1866, in Oh. After Lewis's death, Mary remarried to Philip Carr.

Patricia, Hi! My name is Carol Shackelford Sandoval (cdshack@worldnet.att.net).
I am new to the Shackelford mailing list. My line is in Ohio and I am having trouble getting out of this state! I have been at a dead end for quite a few years but I have never given up! I did place a query on the list a few weeks ago but there seems to be no one working on my line.
Thank you so much for all of the Shackelford information that you have posted on the net, I really appreciate all of the hard work that has gone into it! I would love to be able to help in some way. If you think of something that I can do, please let me know. I have to tell you that I was really excited when I saw the Shackelford Clan Magazine at your site! I have seen some on microfilm years ago, but have never seen so many, I didn't realize that they went on for so many years. I haven't found any of my people in the magazines yet but when I get 1 or 2 generations back farther, I will probably hit pay dirt! I was thinking that it would be great to have an index to these magazines. I have been trying to figure out an easy way to do it but it seems that it would probably have to be done manually. I have a friend that does not work outside of the home and she is willing to work on this if we think that it is feasible. What do you think of this idea?
I saw from your message on the Shackelford mailing list that we can send our descendancy chart to you to be posted. I will try to get that to you as soon as possible. I am pretty new at sending files but I think that I can do it!
