This was found in the book Echoes of the Past Volumn II, I do not know who sent it in and how accurate it is I have no idea...and where they found their resources is another question.

#4-2 Roger was one of the persons transported to Virginia by Edward Palmer, who received 400 acres of land for so doing. This Roger is supposed to have fled England to save his head. His is likly the same Roger baptized April 23, 1629. He would have been about 20 in 1649, the date given by Minor Gibson as the date of his entry into the colonies.

Rogers will has not been found but he following list of his sons is probably correct:

James and Elizabeth lived in Abington and Ware parishes, VA. James sold his wife's property without her knowledge, in Elizabeth City, in the same county Elizabeth City Co., VA (Ref: William W. Hening, Statutes at Large, from the first session of the legislature, year 1619, Vol. IV, pp 461-465.)

#6-4 John was in Orange Co., VA, dealing in land as early as 1750. He purchased two thousand acres of land from Col. James Madison on Oct. 24, 1765. (Ref. Deed Book 14, p. 53, Orange Co., VA) Then he sold part of the land to Henry Shackelford, Oct. 24, 1771. (Ref. Deed Bk. 15, pa 418)

John was in Lincoln Co., KY by 1790.

Ref: Shackelford Clan by T.K. Jones. John was a patriot in the American Rev, having furnished Brandy which was used to dull pain when a soldier was wounded, and beef to help feed the army. (Sallie Duvall Brooking Lowery Gibson's Nation DAR number is 453552)

#7-8 Zachariah b 1748, m. Dolly Embree; was granted land in Lincoln Co., KY 1799 and again granted land in Casey Co., KY 1807. He exchanged several hundred acres of land in Orange Co., VA for a like number of acres in Lincoln Co., KY (Deed Bk 19, p 291). He was a Lieutenant in the Army in the American Revolution.

Zachariah was appointed Second Lt. in Capt. Robert Thomas' Company of Orange Co., Va Militia and took the appropriate oath at the monthly session of the Orange Co. Court held on Nov. 23, 1780, Zachariah was appointed First Lt in Capt Caleb Landsay's Company of the Orange Co. Militia.

John Embree, whose wife was Fanny Wall, was a Patriot in the American Rev.
