My Shackleford connection ?? Well lets see.
My grandmother was Sarah Eliza Shackleford born 11 Jun 1870 in Smyrna, Carteret Co.NC and died 11 Oct 1958 in Lake Butler FL. She was the daughter of George Shackleford and Virginia Hancock of Carteret Co. NC. George's parents were Calvin D. Shackleford and Eliza Harker.
My grandmother's mother, Virginia Hancock also had Shackleford connections. Her grandmother was Hannah Shackleford ( born 25 Dec 1798 in Smyrna NC died 12 Aug 1885 ) who married William Hancock 8 Jan 1818 in Smyrna Carteret Co. NC. That is on my grandmother's side.
My grandfather John C. Leffers was the ggrandson of Lydia Shackleford (md John Brooks) who was the daughter of James Shackleford and Keziah Wicker. James was the son of John Shackleford whose will dated 1734. All of them were in Carteret Co. NC.
I have some unproven connections. As an example I believe that Calvin D. Shackleford was the son of Stephen and Sabra Fulford but I can't prove it.
I am looking forward to the list and maybe I can straighten out a few things.
