TAX REFORM

FREEDOM V DEPENDENCY

1. Fair is keeping the fruits of one's labor 1. Fair is equal outcomes determined arbitarily by class warfare and redistributionist bureaucrats.
2. Do no harm to the economy. 2. Plank 2 of the Communist Manifesto: "A heavy progressive or graduated income tax." Wealth creation requires effort. The folly of confiscation is that it kills effort. This is the folly of Commmunism, see: Cuba, N. Korea, Soviet Union.
3. It's your money. 3. It's the Government's money. See the Communist Manifesto, Plank 1: Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes. Also, Plank 7: Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state.

God imposes a flat income tax or tithe, so it must be fair. If people do not pay the same tax rate then obviously the rates must be arbitrary and capricious.

REPLACE THE INCOME TAX WITH A NATIONAL SALES TAX

The original Constitution did not have an income tax. That was added by the 16th Amendment proposed in 1912. The problem is that politicians decided how much of your money they will take. The income tax is government as thief.

With a sales tax, you have control of your own money and can decide how much in taxes you will pay by controlling your spending. Except for the period of the Civil War the Federal Government ran surpluses under the sales and excise tax system. The question then is not one of revenue, but rather who controls your money - you or the government. It is a question of morality.

The problem with a consumption or sales tax is that some consumption may be overseas, for example by an expensive vacation or a house on the Riveria. However, unless taxes are confiscatory this cannot be a problem since most money will be spent at home.
