1998 Draft Results

1) Curtis Enis, RB Penn State
2) Tony Parrish, DB Washington
Olin Kreutz, OL Washington
4) Alonzo Mayes, TE Oklahoma State
6) Chris Draft, LB Stanford
6) Patrick Mannelly, OL Duke
7) Chad Overhauser, OL UCLA
7) Moses Moreno, QB Colorado State

My opinion of the draft is this... confusion. Why on earth did we pick Curtis Enis with our first pick? Don't get me wrong, the boy is good. But with the talent we already had in the backfield, I think it would have been more intelligent to use that pick for an area of greater need.

I personally think we should have taken Randy Moss. Having him and Conway sprinting down the field and snagging any ball thrown would make even Rick Mirer look good. It really shocked me that he fell all the way to 21.

I'm also disappointed in the selection of Moses Moreno. Being a Notre Dame fan, I think we should have taken Ron Powlus as our quarterback pick. Nothing against Moreno, I just know what Powlus is capable of, and I think he'd make a great back-up. I guess Tennessee will find out.
