If smoken, the effects of cannabis can be felt almost immediately.  The effects of smoked cannabis peak after about 20 minutes and last for 1 to 2 hours. 
 
If eaten, the effects of cannabis generally take 1 to 2 hours to be felt, depending on the amount of food in the stomach.  The effects will peak more slowly, but can be felt for up to 3 or 4 hours. 
 
 
 
PRIMARY EFFECTS:
Low Doses:  euphoria, relaxation, change of perception, sense of well-being, mild enhancement of senses (smell, taste, sound), subtle change in thoughts and expression, talkativeness, giggling, increased appreciation of music, increased appetite
 
High Doses:  any of the effects from above as well as a sense of time is altered, attention span and memory are frequently affected, and thought processes and perception may be signifigantly altered 
 
 
 
ADVERSE EFFECTS:
Negative effects can include paranoia, dry mouth, respitory problems and nervousness/racing heart.  Other effects may be negative or inconvenient in certain situations or settings, including reduced ability to concentrate, impaired memory, tiredness, and confusion.  Side effects tend to increase with lifetime use:  As users age, they often report the anxiety-producing and uncomfortable effects increase and the euphoria decreases.
