This episode was one of the better ones of the season. To kick it off, Holly discusses what a great leader Dan is. Then, Piggy talks about Los' rude behavior and Dan goes to pick him up at the hotel and try to compromise to an agreement. Then, they get their clue. It tells them to meet Dr. Bob and Heather worries that they'll have to cut someone open. :) Piggy starts talking about Los again and says he's threatened by her, 'cause she's just like him. They're both 1/2 black. Heather & Mike talk about Los leaving, but how they don't wanna win that way. Then, Piggy shares her fantasy that Los will come back and say he's "so sorry" and he's overwhelmed by" her "intelligence and beauty". She also hopes he'll apologize for ruining her birthday.
Dan goes to get Los at the Holiday Inn he's staying at and tries patiently to find a way of compromisation. Los is stubborn and says that if you can't talk to him pleasantly, then don't talk to him at all, which reminds me of a certain nursery school phrase. Next, to make him look even more mature, he says: "I am rubber, you are glue. Whatever you say bounces off me, and sticks to you." There's a mature guy for you. When he walks onto the bus, no one looks thrilled to see him. While Los takes a nap in his bunk, the rest of teh Road Rules team discusses how they have to treat him. Veronica says she loves him, jokingly. Holly talks abou how much he has to offer and how he's "w/out a doubt the greatest male I've ever met, in my life."
When both teams arrive at the university, they meet Dr. Bob, who informs them of their mission. Each team has to stay in a padded cell for 48 hours, with nothing but food and clothes. They also have to keep a tennis ball in motion every second they're there. Once the 48 hours is over, they have to stay, until either a team stops the ball, or a team leaves the cell. They're not allowed watches, forms of music, magazines, or anything. This will be a tough mission. They are given money to do their shopping for all the food they're gonna need for the next 2 days. When they're done, they meet Dr. Bob again, and he leads them to their cells. Each team has blindfolds (bandanas) on. They have to hold onto the shoulder of the person in front of them to keep going w/out bumping into anything. The Real World team sings a railroad song as they're led to their temple of doom. :) Yes comments and says theyre being led to a gas chamber.
Once the RW team enters their cell, Teck goes crazy jumping off the walls (literally). The Road Rules team just seems to go w/ the flow. Heather B. tells all her teammates that if someone has to go to sleep, and the ball isn't moving, wake her up. She says it doesn't matter how hard she's snoring, just wake her up. Piggy goes into the confessional and says she's thinking of all the people she wants to kill. Los is at the top of her list. Teck starts eating gum off the wall. Ewwwww...that's just nasty. Then, Heather B. tells Mike to put his butt in the closet, because he farts every day consistently. She says it's good, 'cause at least they'll know when it's 8:30. The Road Rules team discusses nakedness. Piggy plays 'Leap Los', which basically means she's jumping over Los and she also jumps over Dan & Holly. Dan says she's gone mad, and I agree. :) They show a scene of David and Teck bouncing the ball back and forth, while David's smoking. Doesn't team Real World lose 6,000 E*Trade dollars for that? Someone please explain it to me. David & Teck discuss a way to keep the ball moving, but no agreement is made. Meanwhile, Yes & Dan are trying to discover a way to keep their ball moving. An agreement is reached. They put the ball in a plastic shopping bag, tie Yes' shoelaces to it, hang it from the ceiling, and let the air conditioning do the work for them. That was a clever idea.
Teck & David go into the confessional. Teck has the red bandana around his nose & mouth, w/ his arm around Dave's neck, his hand in a gun-shape, pointed at David's head. He says that he's gonna kill him, anmd when David says: "Please give me money.", Teck says repeatedly, "That's enough, that's enough." LOL I think Piggy is a little too hyper in this mission, she lights a match, and sticks in right under Dan's tapping foot. When he discovers the warmth form the flame, he turns around and hits her w/ a pillow. LOL
It's probably the most important moment of the whole mission: Kat is the only one who's playing w/ the ball & singing, while everyone else is sleeping (which isn't fair). She has to go to the bathroom, so she wakes up David and asks him to play w/ it while she goes to the restroom. David bounces it for a while, but dozes off. That eliminates the Real World team. They get a note under the door that says David stopped the ball for 20 seconds. They're all mad, but Kat feels guilty and thinks she owes Heather B. an apology for not waking her up. I don't think it was her fault. I also don't think she owes Heather an apology. Kat becomes the scapegoat way too often. Meanwhile, the Road Rulers, unaware that the Real Worlders have been eliminated, continue w/ the mission. Piggy is opening and closing her legs repeatedly. Veronica asks her if she's horny. She says she's just supressing her muscles and says she doesn't think anybody cares. But, she says Yes is probably like, "Ooh, that looks inviting." Yes doesn't deny it. Instead, he says, "That's just what I was thinking. Pig looks so inviting right now." LOL Then, Holly & Veronica discuss their favorite body part on a guy. Holly says the back & shoulders. Veronica says the feet. The ask Dan. At first, he thinks they're talking about men. LOL
Then, the Road Rulers finally start to make some peace. Los says: "Maybe there is something wrong with me. I mean, like, why can't I get along w/ anyone?" Piggy makes a joke, and for the first time in a long time, Los laughs. Piggy & Los roll the ball back and forth to eachother for a while, and went Piggy sits back down, and strattles, Los hits her right in the crotch, on accident. :o) The Roadies get a sign under their door that says, "15 Minutes". They get all excited. When Dr. Bob arrives and opens the door, w/ the RW team, the RW team points & laughs, pretending it was another fake mission. Yes gets pissed off, because they try to knock the RR team's confidence again. Dr. Bob pretends Mike's his nephew, to add to the joke. But, eventually, they tell the RR team that it was a real mission. They get their 10,000 E*Trade dollars, amking the score now, 60,000-40,000 E*Trade dollars. The Road Rules team is winning. Both teams exchange their hugs, and then it crosses over to the Road Rules bus celebrating their victory. Los says the most positive thing about the 48 hours was him being able to befriend Piggy.
The final line is made by Yes, who says: "We smacked 'em in the ass. We smacked 'em in the ass."
Next week, the season finale. :( Their last mission is to go skydiving and hit a target. But, what happens when a Challenger misses the target, lands wrong, and injures themself?
