1. Do you still keep in contact w/ your cast members??
Ayanna is the only person that I still see on the regular. I think that we have a great friendship, I love her very much. I am still in touch with Shawn and Yes. However, I don't see them as much as I would like.
2. Are you still doing Photo Relief?? How's that going??
PhotoRelief is pretty much dead for now. I say "for now" because I plan on rebuilding someday. I drained all of my resources for the two years that I was trying to get PhotoRelief going. I was also very naive at the time. Egos tend to inflate when you get your ass on T.V. I had this misconception that I've earned some respect or something in the photography world. I thought that PhotoRelief would be an easy way of getting people together to do some good. I thought that things would finally be easier. It took me two years to wake up.
3. Who were you closest to/least closest to from the cast??
While on the ship I was definitely closest to Shawn. We had a great time making fun of just about everything.
4. Have you been contacted about doing a Challenge? If not, would you want to??
No, I haven't been contacted. I would love to do it if Ayanna was there. I don't think that I'd want to if Veronica or Pua were my teamates. which probably means that I'll be getting contacted soon about doing it with Veronica or Pua.
5. What do you regret most from the trip?
There was this incredible chain of small tropical islands that we passed somewhere around Malaysia. I remember standing on the deck looking at them, being drawn to them. I regret not jumping.
6. Do people recognize you a lot? How do you deal w/ the fame?
Every time that someone recognizes me, (as long as it's not a wasted frat brother) I use the opportunity to meet someone new. I think that I've managed to freak quite a few people out by how friendly I am. I guess that some people expect everyone on T.V. to radiate some form of superior quality. I found that being open and friendly throws a lot of people off balance. There's one quote that everyone should remember the next time they run into a celebrity, "Everyone's sh*t stinks"
7. Did you ever think of hooking up with anyone during SAS?
There were a couple of girls that I was interested in. The problem was that they had boyfriends back home. It's hard to get someone to have an affair when there's a television crew on your heals.
8. Would you rather have been on Real World??
Hell NO
9. Out of all of the casts of RR and RW, which cast members would you like to meet?
Honestly, I don't watch MTV. Actually, wait, that's a lie... I've been watching "The Osbournes" I'd really like to meet and photograph Ozzy.
10. Do you ever go back to Poland? Is any of your family still there??
I love Poland. As a kid my mom would send me there for the summers. I still go about every two years. It's funny, I haven't managed to take any good pictures there. It's like there's too much pressure or something. We've gotten so much sh*t from the world, it's incredible that somehow we've made it. One of my dreams has always been to take some friends out there, and show them around. I really enjoy being a tour guide.
Yes, I have a bunch of aunts, uncles and my only surviving grandparent all living in Warsaw, which is also were I was born. I miss them tremendously. Ideally, I would like to spend a few months out of ever year in Poland.
11. Do you watch any of the newer seasons of Real World or Road Rules or the Challenges??
No.
12. How would you feel about a Road Rules reunion??
If it was hosted some place cool, and we really got a chance to hang out for a few days, then I would love to do it. If they just fly everyone out to the studio for a day to ask a few questions, then I don't see any point. I'd rather sit at home and watch "the Osbournes"
13. What was your favorite/least favorite mission or overall moment from SAS??
My least favorite mission was the photography contest in Kenya. I just felt like it was stupid. Maybe I took it too seriously, maybe I'm the assh*le. I probably should've just had fun. I felt incredibly embarrassed. But then when the episode aired on T.V. And I realized that they made it look like I cared about the competition. That's when I totally lost it. I was with a group of friends and we laughed our asses off at how pathetic I looked. The funniest was when they pasted that shot of me losing my smile just as Veronica won the camera. They made it look like I wanted that piece of sh*t minolta (which by the way broke after a short while of use) when I was, in reality, very happy that veronica had won the prize. She tried really hard, and I really enjoyed coaching her. It was the first time that we connected in some way. It was hysterical that they made it look like I cared about winning the biggest piece of crap camera in the world. Except I couldn't say that because we were sponsored by them. Just because they call it reality T.V. doesn't mean that it's not T.V. for the record, we were all given pocket sized monoltas for the trip, I don't think that any of them survived average use. A few broke after only a few weeks. The moral of the story... Everyone should stay away from minolta, or you'll be made to look like an idiot on T.V.
14. Any other comments?? I miss looking out on the ocean everyday. I miss seeing dolphins play. I miss the people that I've met on the trip... The people at the circus in Brazil, The family In Capetown, Paset our Maasai guide, The kids at the center in Vietnam... It;s hard to believe but the list goes on, it was an incredible experience. I miss the friendship I had with Shawn I miss the crew, especially the Betacam Ops
Well, that's the interview. Thanks so much Pawel!
