Born in 2338, in Brisbane, Australia on the Planet Earth, Connare was the only son of Thomas and Janice James. With both his parents in Starfleet Research, much of his youth was spent moving from one Research facility to another. In 2344, whilst on their way home, to planet Earth, the James's transport vessel was rocked by a meteor shower, causing the craft to crash land on a Class - D planet. Both parents were killed instantly, along with 35 other victims. With no other family remaining, Connare went to live with his paternal Grandfather, William Robert James, in the Scottish Highlands of Earth. William James had also been a Starfleet Officer, serving as Commander aboard the USS Glasgow; a Miranda class vessel. Connare's education, delivered by his Grandfather, developed him into a fine young man. He grew up with a strong sense of loyalty and honour which undoubtedly contributed to his choice to enter Starfleet. Academically, Connare was a gifted child, but it was his ability to assess and react to a situation, that was his greatest strength. At age on 18, and much to his grandfather's delight, Connare applied and was accepted into the Starfleet Academy, in San Francisco. During the four years training at the Academy, Connare was a driven man and excelled in his studies, graduating second in his class in 2359. His first assignment is as an Ensign, Tactical station, aboard the USS Endeavour. An uneventful tour aboard the Endeavour, saw Connare James promoted to Lt Jg in 2362. Early in 2363, Connare was transferred to the USS Roosevelt, as an operations officer and once again promoted, this time to full Lt. Two years later, in 2365, James was made Chief of Operations aboard the Roosevelt and promoted to Lt Commander. Early in 2367, some 40 Federation starships tried in vain to prevent a Borg invasion of Earth. Wolf 359 was the site of this terrible battle. The USS Roosevelt, like the Melbourne, Saratoga, Tolstoy, Buran, Princeton, and 33 other ships, was lost to the might of the Borg Attack. Of the 560 officers and crew aboard the Roosevelt that day, only Connare James and 16 of his fellow crew managed to escape carnage. After a three month break from active duty, Connare James was once again , transferred. This time to the USS Sydney, a Galaxy-class starship, as Chief of Operations. After the incursion with the Borg, Federation life seemed to settle down once again, and the Sydney was reassigned to exploration of the uncharted universe. In 2372, Connare James is promoted to Commander and becomes the XO of the Sydney, when the Captain Taylor is recalled to Starfleet Command to assist with the Klingon Empire and the possible Dominion invasion of the Alpha Quadrant. In 2374, as the war between the Federation and the Dominion took a turn for the worse, the Sydney was heavily damaged during Starfleet's first attempt to retake Deep Space Nine from the Dominion. During the battle, the captain was killed. As the First Officer, Connare received a field promotion to Captain and commander the USS Sydney. Later that year, amidst the ravages of war, Connare finally found the time to marry Inez Andika Elbrun, a Starfleet Officer, and his Chief Medical Officer aboard the USS Sydney. 2375, saw Connare James officially promoted to Captain and given command of the USS Highlander. The rest is still to be written...............

Connare is a Captain that leads by example. A bright and resourceful man, He can quickly ascertain a situation and determine the best possible outcome with resources available. At 6'3", his presence at times, can be overpowering and demanding. At the same time, he can be an easy going person and makes friends with little difficulty. With all his experiences, he has learned that through it all, you still have to have friends. He is an extremely honourable man, loyal to the Federation, Starfleet, his wife, his Ship and Crew.
