With most of the crew safely on board, the USS Highlander warps to the Trigus System on the Romulan / Klingon Border. One of the first planets use in the Terraforming experiments, the planet is experiencing massive earthquakes. Belived to be the work of revolutionary separtists, the crew of the Highlander must find these terrorists before they destory the planet and the 5 million inhabitants.
Once there, the Highlander's Captain beams down to the planet, to meet the President of Trigus III. Unbeknownest to the Highlander Crew, joining them in orbit of Trigus III are five cloaked Romulan Warbirds. The Romulans have been destabilising the system to use it as an observation post. The planet is also rich in a valuable mineral the Romulan's require. Commander Sela, herself has been given control of this important mission.

With the arrival of Lt. Lang on a sixth Warbird, the crew of the Highlander start to piece the information together. Lt Stewart

leads an Away team to the planet's surface to discover who is mining the planet's surface creating the earthquakes and putting the Trigus population at risk. With the Lt. on his way, the Highlander is affected by a communication blackout. Commander Crusher, now in command of the Highlander, beams over to the friendily Romulan vessel to discuss the Highlander's findings. Suddenly the other 5 Romulan Warbirds decloak and attack the Highlander and her shuttlecraft. The Shuttlecraft is forced to crash on the planet's surface. The shuttle crew are survive, but immediately are captured and enprisoned by a band of Romulan soldiers and the terrorists..

With both the Captain and Commander Crusher unreachable, Commander Inez James, the Chief Medical Officer and the Highlander's Second Officer takes command and immediately cloaks the Highlander and disappears from the Romulan Fleet. Badly damaged, the Highlander's Assistant Chief Engineer sets to repairing primary circuits, while the Deputy Security Chief and OPS, gerry gig the weapons systems. Suddenly a Klingon Bird of Prey arrives under the command of Ambassador Worf and with he decloakes two other Klingon Vessels. Still damaged, the Highlander reenters the engagement, and the Federation Allies manage to dispatch one of the Warbirds before the Romulan ships break orbit and scatter. With communications back to normal, the rest of the crew are able to rejoin the Highlander and Trigus III is released from the grip of the Romulan Empire. A disappointment to the Federation, Commander Sela of the Romulan Tal Shiar has managed to escape and is still a large.
