Banana Cream Pie

From a Crisco label.

1/4 cup cornstarch 2/3 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 cups milk 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten 1 tablespoon margarine or butter 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 3 bananas, sliced Baked 9-inch Crisco pie shell Combine cornstarch, sugar and salt. Stir in milk. Cook over medium heat until mixture thickens and boils, stirring constantly. Cook for 2 minutes and remove from heat. Add a little of hot mixture to egg yolks, return to hot mixture and cook 1 minute longer. Stir in margarine and vanilla. Cool. Arrange banana slices in baked 9-inch pie shell. Pour cooled filling over bananas.
