A Book Of Shadows sounds more ominous than it really is, for it is only another journal of sorts charting the magickal and psychological and metaphysical journey of its author. The BOS of many pagans or witches, or whatever they choose to call themselves, is usually private and handed down from generation to generation, if passed on at all.
This is a public BOS, since my life has no secrets. Nothing in this BOS will resemble the kind of magick one might view in fictional television programs or films such as Bewitched, Charmed, Angel, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, The Craft, Practical Magick, or any of a plethora of other escapism forms of entertainment.
You will not find any spells advocating or instructing violence toward man or animal. There are no spells requiring eye of newt or tongue of bat. At least , none in my BOS. Do you have any idea how hard it is to do anything to a bat's tongue?
