Judge, The Wonder Dog . Kim's Kitchen down in skid row, the scene of this fine mess, It really is the strangest tale, I surely must confess. Of how a "vicious killer", from our Canine Corps, Got involved with one brave man, who opened up a door. . Sergeant Barnard and Zanatta, Hudson and Al Dunn, Were prepared to check the clientele, before anyone could run. When they finished, Mike looked up, he clearly was confused, For at the front door, what he saw, kept him quite amused. . A drunken Native Indian, and a faithful shepard dog, Were bumping heads, while trying to, enter for some "grog". A blind man was the first thought, Mike could contemplate, But the dog looked so familiar, was this a shepard trait? . He went and opened up the door, the two friends wandered in, The Native and The Shepard, both wore a Cheshire grin. For this was Judge, The Wonder Dog, with crooks he takes delight, In catching them at scenes of crime, with a not so gentle bite. . It seems the pooch got lonely, while sitting in the car, So he started whining, and found a patron from a bar. This fellow opened up the door, so Judge could have a stretch, Then licked the face and hands of, this intoxicated wretch. . The three other cops were laughing, so hard they had to pee, As well as all the clientele, who couldn't help but see. One was heard to comment, as Al loaded up his mutt, That dog needs retraining, and all then split a gut. . Al just stood there red faced, there was nothing he could say, He left there, tires smoking, it had been a rotten day. Of course this information, has now made its way to me, And a poem has now been posted, so that everyone can see. . But Al there is a bright side, to this humiliating thought, Judge is now a different breed, from all the dogs we've got. Instead of chewing up the crooks, or any common jerk, He has a very bright career, in doing Social Work. . PC 664 T.J. Gowdyk 89-02-28 (61) RETURN TO INDEX OF POEMS STORY BEHIND THE POEM
