PNE '90

.
When working at the PNE, at Exhibition time,
Each one has its characters, on which to base a rhyme.
This year no exception, with many from T.V.,
Still others from the comics page, were there for you to see.
.
First our leader "Gilligan", who made his fair debut,
With the time worn old expression, "You are in a lot of poo!"
Another was "Bud Bundy", with the ladies he's a hit,
Especially the teenage ones, aged fifteen and a bit.

.
Next came "Elroy Jetson", with his fairly charming style,
Even wearing women's clothing, he had on a winning smile.
Then came "Little Abner", who was always hanging 'round,
And learned about humility, while dangling off the ground.

.
The funniest among the group, and the laughter that they gave,
"Big Slide Jim" the leader, and his partner "Dirty Dave".
The "Scrounger" kept us well supplied, with sustenance and beer,
For parties "Ronnie Diamond", sang tunes for us to hear.

.
Among the group a killer lurked, the gang boys would not cross,
"No Mercy Marcie" is her name, she showed them who was boss.
The "Phantom" lost his handcuffs, in our tiny changing room,
They came back with a letter, all scented with perfume.

.
But time has quickly passed us by, the fair is at an end,
The parties all are over now, we all are round the bend.
So to quote our leader "Gilligan", addressed to you and me,
"Let's go do one final sweep, we all get paid 'till three."
