This page is here to help you get a grasp on Java Script and give you ideas on how it can enhance your website. This page is made for people who think of themselves as webmasters, or webmasters-to-be, so it contains no tricks that have no use on a serious webpage. You should know that I maintain a commercial website for a living, so certain professional deformation may be detected, but I don't think that commercial websites are the only serious ones. It can be any webpage that serves a purpose other than killing time, although depending on the purpose, the webmaster may or may not find all the desired enhancements here. So, what you certainly won't find here are things like:

  • ways of checking user's email address and/or attempting to gather any data he/she didn't agree to disclose
  • scripts that crash browsers
  • scripts that access the user's hard disk for purposes other than setting a cookie
Also, this page is focused on those features that make the website easier to navigate and more functional. What is and what is not functional can be a subject of a debate, but let me simply tell you what other script categories are excluded:
  • music
  • video
  • scrolling text
  • games
  • other things that simply fall outside my field of interest

All the scripts on this page are mine there are no things "borrowed" from other sites, so what ever you get here, you need not worry that somebody will ask you for a credit. There are no copyrights attached, no need for any credits, you can link to this site freely if you want other people to know about it, but there are no obligations what so ever if you decide to take a script from this website.

Suggestion
As visitors to your website may have Java Script support turned off (which I don't have to worry about on this website as all of you have come for no other reason than the scripts), provide an alternative way of achieving the same goal, as text links, no-java-script version of the website etc.
