FLEA BYTE HYPERSENSIVITY

*one the most common allergies in dogs and cats

* symptoms : pruritus, alopecia and erythema will develop especially in the lumbar region, but can spread all over the body

* acute moist dermatitis is a frequent consequence (very itchy) in cats a large number of pustules and crusts develop mainly in the lumbar region, but can cover the whole surface of the skin

* treatment : anti-flea-sprays, spot on applications (to be continued the whole year through !) and treatment with antibiotics as well as symptomatic treatments are often necessary
