The Vets
by Aubrey Hobson

This country's been around over two-hundred years,
Built to last, with blood, sweat and tears;
And we need to remember we all owe a debt
To the men and women we call the Vets.

Sons and daughters, husbands and wives,
Some gave their time, others their lives,
Some served in peacetime, while others fought a war;
But it was always freedom they were all fighting for.

This Nation couldn't flourish, this nation couldn't stand
Without the men and women who have defended our land.
Old Glory will aways wave, freedom's sun will never set
As long as we don't forget to remember the Vets.

Remember the Vets who fought to keep this land free,
Those who've come before and those yet to be.
When you're counting your blessings, please don't forget,
In your prayers each night, Thank God for the Vets.
