macramé on line

The On-line Magazine Exclusively Dedicated to Macramé

Guidelines for Contributors

Contact us at the earliest possible date! We need the materials at least one week before publication: for the summer issue: before June 23; for the fall issue: before September 23; for the winter issue: before December 24; for the Spring issue: before March 24.

This is a free magazine, therefore, authors will receive compensations according to revenue generated from sponsors. When an article is published, the revenues generated, if any, from sponsors will be divided equally among the authors of that issue, i.e. all revenues generated, if any, during the publication of an issue will be divided equally among the authors of that publication period.

If/when an article is accepted for publication (Every attempt will be made to insure that all contributors will be published.), the editor will work directly with authors to present the best possible article for publication. This may include, but will not be limited to, redaction, comment, and recommendations. The final draft, however, will be the authors words, not the editors.

The authors retain sole ownership of the copyright. If, however, the author decides to have the article published somewhere else, they should inform both Macramé on Line, and the proposed publisher of this on-line publication.

All articles should relate to macramé. This central thesis is deliberately broad, enabling the author to encompass any and all aspects of macramé, and anything related to macramé. Make it readable and relevant! We are not looking for great prose, merely clear ideas and information.

All patterns should include complete instructions, material needs, and necessary tools.

Any news, which includes anything that you feel may be of interest to readers relating to macramé, should be e-mailed to the editor.

All technique articles should encompass the step-by-step procedures necessary to accomplish some methodology. Any tools used should also be listed, as well as how to use them.

Book reviews, either one recently published or one published in the past, should inform the reader as to its general outline, overall quality, usefulness, and whether it is available in print or not. Did you like it; was it useful; do you recommend the book; etc.? Include: Title; Author; Publisher; Copyright date; ISBN number; # of pages; # of illustrations; # of black/white photographs; # of color photographs; does it have a bibliography; does it list supply sources.

If you use illustrations, make them clear enough for the reader to understand.

All graphics, if sent via e-mail, should be formatted to: jpeg, gif, or tiff. Each individual graphic must be sent via e-mail under a separate cover. One graphic per e-mail. If graphics are mailed, they should be the highest quality prints available for scanning purposes. If graphics are mailed via a floppy disc, they should be formatted to jpeg, gif, or tiff.

If you are e-mailing the article, place the body of the article in Microsoft Word 95 or Adobe Acrobat, otherwise place the body of the article in the body of the e-mail. Lay out the article in the format you would like to see it published. If you are e-mailing the article, place a marker where the graphic or illustration should go, and number them to the e-mail subject.

If you are mailing the article via a floppy disc, place the body of the work in Microsoft Word 95 or Adobe Acrobat.

If you have any questions, please contact the editor at the address below.
