More online interviews and photos
Thanks to all those eagle-eyed fans around the world for finding the following excellent interviews and articles about Patrick over the past few days. ...keep them coming in

Huddersfield Town's star supporter
Unless your a Brit you probably won't appreciate how passionate we can be about our football, and Patrick is certainly no exception in his support of recently relegated Huddersfield Town. The official Town web site has just made a radio interview with Patrick available in which he talks about his lifelong following for the club.

I'm just thankful Derby County managed to stay in the premiership last season, unlike our cricket team...

Stewart collects OBE from Palace
What a great week of celebration this has been for Patrick.
Following Monday's honorary fellowship from Cardiff University, today he was finally able to collect his OBE (Order of the British Empire) from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace, and tomorrow of course is his birthday!

Teletext.co.uk have a photo and article, however please note they incorrectly state he received the CBE.

Congratulations from all fellow fans around the world, and thank goodness the beard has finally come off...

Fellowship photo
icWales.com have an article and photo of Patrick at the ceremony where he received his honorary fellowship from Cardiff University earlier this week.

Thanks to Sue Ellrod once again.

'Shylock' reviews and interview
West Yorkshire Playhouse Thanks to those fans who have contacted me with their experiences of seeing Patrick on stage in 'Shylock'. Seems everyone agrees he should be spending more time on stage and performing Shakespeare...

Here's an excellent account of one of the performances seen by Catherine Ellis on July 6th.

Having read that you may wonder if the critic from the Daily Telegraph was actually at the same event judging by his comments...such a shame this appears to be the only UK national newspaper to have bothered covering the show. Let's hope for better things from the UK press in September.

On a better note, here's an excellent interview by Anne Pickles of thisisleeds.co.uk with Patrick.  Thanks to Sue Ellrod for spotting it.

Stewart receives Honorary Fellowship
Cardiff University presented Patrick with an honorary fellowship at a ceremony on Monday in St David's Hall . Not only did the staff decide to honour him for his commitment to stage and screen acting, but they're also writing a book on Star Trek....just goes to show that Trek fans are indeed amongst the most intelligent on the planet!
More information on the event at BBC Wales and Cardiff University

Thanks to Andrew Weltch at Cardiff University PR for this.

'Shylock' - Thoughts and all...
West Yorkshire Playhouse Patrick is currently appearing at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds for a short run of his one-man show called 'Shylock' : Shakespeare's Alien. Afterwards there is a post show discussion in which the audience can ask Patrick questions about Shylock, Shakespeare, acting or anything else!

If you're the least bit interested in Shakespeare or acting, this performance offers such a wealth of insight into the character of Shylock and the actor who spent 2 years back in the late '70's portraying him, that you'll come away wondering why Stewart hasn't performed in a full length Shakespeare production for over 4 years now - and that was in Washington D.C.

What are our British producers and directors messing at? Hollywood may have had the monopoly on his talents (and squandered them) for the past 14 years, but the stage is where the brilliance is revealed....Trevor Nunn and Adrian Noble please take note.

Reviews of the show can be found at BBC Leeds online web site and Thisisyork.co.uk
BBC Leeds also have an interview with Stewart including Real Audio clips.
Elsewhere Ananova also have an article about the show.

Bookings for Shylock can be made by ringing the West Yorkshire Playhouse on 0113 213 7700. Tickets priced from £9.50
The performances continue until Saturday 7th July.
More information on the show is available at the WYP web site.

Thanks to fellow fans Kate, Samantha and Brigitte who attended last Wednesday's performance with me for your continued support of Patrick and this web site....see you all again in September for Johnson Over Jordan.
