FYI: Gregory Peck who appears as Father Maple in this 1998 production not only played Capt. Ahab in the John Huston 1956 film but was originally intended to play the main role of Lear in Stewart's 'King of Texas' but decided to finally retire from acting last year.

The DVD edition is well worth the money with excellent Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, great picture quality and interactive menus plus lots of extra features including several 'cut scenes' which can be restored into the film or viewed separately. Well done Fox. About time Paramount offered the same with the Trek DVD releases....

X-Men grossed £15m at the UK box office last year - 8th place for UK cinema takings. 

Hallmark are showing the excellent adaptation of the Oscar Wilde short story The Canterville Ghost on  Fri. 16th @ 19:00 and Sat. 17th @ 04:00

Stewart is in fine form as the 400 year old ghost - Sir Simon De Canterville - who is cursed to remain in a cell by day and haunt Canterville Hall by night.

The production boasts a fine supporting cast of UK and US actors including Neve Campbell, Cheri Lunghi, Donald Sinden and Joan Sims.

Meanwhile the nice folk over at Minnesota Public Radio have audio interviews with Patrick, Mercedes Ruehl and director David Esbjornson, plus a slideshow of rehearsals for the newly open play.

Anyone in the Minnesota area looking for an in depth discussion of the play may want to attend "A Psychoanalytic Exploration of 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?", a post lunch event featuring Stewart and Joe Dowling - artistic director of the Guthrie Theater. 
The discussion takes place on Friday 9 March @ 1:30 pm, tickets are $100.
