24th Concerts and honours for Patrick this Summer

While it may be some time before he dons the uniform of Captain Picard again, actor Patrick Stewart is staying busy with several projects that his fans may want to keep tabs on.

On the musical front, Stewart will be narrating "A Soldier's Tale" by Stravinsky June 17-19 and 23 with the San Francisco Symphony at its home venue in that city.

Next, on July 21, he narrates for mezzo-soprano Susan Graham and pianist Emanuel Ax at the Boston area Tanglewood Music Festival production of Strauss' "Enoch Arden," a melodrama after Alfred Lord Tennyson. Two days later he will narrate a second Strauss production.

May 21st, he receives an honorary doctoral degree from the venerable Juilliard School in New York City. "The world has been enriched by your artistry and vision," the school mentioned in its letter to Stewart in announcing the honor.

Also listen for Stewart's narration of a documentary on the Panchen Lama for the International Campaign for Tibet, to be released this summer.

And if all that weren't enough, Stewart had the singular honor of being cast in May for an upcoming exhibit -- as himself, not as his Starfleet personna -- by the legendary Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum for its Las Vegas and London sites later this year.

Prof. X at last?

Star Trek Continuum are also reporting that Patrick has finally signed on the dotted line for the role of Prof. X in the up coming X-Men feature for next year, however I wait to hear catagorical confirmation of this news from other sources before throwing my hat up in the air on this one just yet..........
