This is the
way it was meant to be,
A blind man,
who has no need to see.
The world around
him remains the same,
With emotions
that are only filled with pain.
The race is
on, it began a while ago,
The road is
long, and the pace is slow.
The finish was
never in sight,
There was never
a cause to fight.
A bag full of
regrets weight heavy on my shoulder,
With arms that
long and yearn to hold her.
There she goes
again, stealing the show,
Making me feel
emotions both high and low.
Her smile is
sweet, it always was,
My mind is weak,
always full of flaws.
The magic is
gone, the dream is over,
The search has
ended, no new lands to discover.
The price was
paid, the sacrafice made,
You could have
seen it, if you only stayed.
Don't know why
these emotions overtake me at a time like this,
It was always
something I was going to miss.
Shouldn't feel
bad then, nothing was lost,
The deal had
to be made at any cost.
The face is
cheerful, the eyes tell more,
It's an empty
room with a locked door.
The struggle
is on, be it slow and silent,
With this much
I've learned to be content.
It's enough
to know that you'll never be mine,
And to get used
to it, I've got only time.
Time to love,
time to hate,
Time to pry
open my sealed fate.
