To turn the corner

Just when I thought I couldn't want anymore,
You walked in through the door.
Looked into your eyes, so soft and serene,
Saw something I had never seen.
Won't you let me hold you, just for a while,
And I know I can bring your face to smile.
Like I feel inside when I'm with you,
The way you make all the gray skies blue.
Shadows would give way to sun shine,
If only you would be mine.
Now I find myself a million miles away,
Missing you each night and day.
Wondering where you are and what you do,
Wondering if you could ever love me too.
There's so much I'd have liked you to see,
If only you would let me.
Remember the night, when I let you in,
Into the place where so few have been.
None could stay though, not that I'm bitter,
Gotten used to the harsh cold of winter.
Now I wait, for a day in the sun,
When the two of us can finally be one.
Sometimes I find it hard to understand,
Just what stops you from holding my hand.
You see, there's no way it could go wrong,
Because its only in your arms, that I shall always belong.
