Here are just a few of the records that UT Football has had.

Texas has had:
218 first-team all-Conference selections
61 All-America honors
38 Bowl games appearances-ranks #4 on the NCAA All-time Bowl Game List with a record of 18-18-2
29 NFL 1st round draft picks-ranks #11 in the NFL for all-time 1st round draft picks.
26 Conference crowns
11 College Football Hall of Famers
3 NFL Hall of Famers-Earl Campbell (RB) 1991, Bobby Layne (QB) 1967, Tom Landry (Coach) 1990

They were National Champions in 1963, 1969 and 1970.

The Heisman Trophy was won by Earl Campbell in 1977 and Ricky Williams in 1998.

The Lombardi Trophy was won by Kenneth Sims in 1981 and Tony Degrate in 1984.

The Outland Trophy was won by Scott Appleton in 1963, Tommy Nobis in 1965 and Brad Shearer in 1977.

UT Coaches in the National Hall of Fame:
Dana X. Bible coach from 1937-46, inducted in 1951.
Darrell K. Royal coach from 1957-76, inducted in 1983.

Texas' all-time winning percentage of 70.8 ranks 5th on the NCAA lists.

Ricky holds 21 NCAA records and 46 UT marks.

Off the field Ricky was chosen by Pres. Bill Clinton as the 1999 national spokesman for the Buckle Up America Campaign.

The New Orleans Saints traded all of their picks in 1999 and a first and thrid round pick in 2000 to the Washington Redskins for the right to select Ricky with the fifth pick in the 1999 NFL Draft.  It marked the first time in NFL history that a team selected only one player in the draft.  The Saints must have wanted Ricky real bad!
