The "man-of-the-house" is Tanner, my neutered orange-and-white tuxedo tomcat. He was born on August 13, 2007.  As is the story with most of my companions, he too is adopted. Tanner is one of those special cats...capturing my heart when I was not prepared, or even interested in bringing any other critters home.  He is very intelligent, and behaves more like a dog than a cat.  He will play 'fetch', will 'sit-up', and he follows me everywhere when I am home.  He is my personal favorite.

This is Saber. He was born on August 30, 2009.  He and his littermates were being advertised on Craigslist, and my son, newly home from the Army, wanted a kitten of his own.  So, my son and I went and saw the litter, and Saber was the first one he fell in love with.  Saber is definitely an "A" personality; he is out-going and feisty, and very quick.  The other cats have accepted him, especially Tanner, who loves racing through the house from one end to the other with him.

This is Casey. He was born April 22, 2013.  I really wasn't looking for another household member, but I was looking through Craigslist, and he was free to a good home...and I couldn't resist the opportunity to be owned by a snowshoe Siamese.  I had to travel to the other side of the valley to get him, but it was worth it.  He is very vocal and a terror, afraid of nothing, including my other cats.  He gleefully chases them through the house, much to their dismay.  I am sure THAT little game will cost me many a nights sleep...

This is Dakoda. He was born sometime around April, 2014.  He showed up on a co-workers doorstep in October 2014, and she did all she could to find his owners for two weeks, to no avail.  She couldn't keep him herself, so she asked around at work if anyone wanted him, and I volunteered.  I brought him home, and he was accepted immediately by my clan.  He's definitely not shy, and will investigate any change in the house with suspicion.  Not one to enjoy excessive petting, he nevertheless loves attention, as long as it is on his terms.

This is Neeka. She was born approximately Dec 15, 2014.  On March 19, 2015 I was contacted regarding a puppy that was found at a North Phoenix waste-water plant, and was picked up by three college-aged kids who had been out hiking.  They took her home and re-hydrated her, and kept her two weeks, trying to find her owners, with no luck.  That's when I was contacted.  I immediately took her in, and I suspect that she may be a coyote/German Shepherd cross.  She has the coloring and mannerisms of a coyote, but responds to guidance and structure like a domestic dog.  She was terrified of my cats at first, but now loves them.  She learns quickly, but remains shy and timid.  A keeper…!

This young man is Rama.  He was born May 21, 2015 in Chandler, AZ, to a feral mom.  When he and his siblings were found with their mom, they were taken in by a kind family and given food and shelter.  When the kittens were nine weeks of age, they were advertised on Craigslist as 'free to good home'.  I snapped him up because he was adorable, and reminded me a great deal of Casey, back when he was a kitten.  I named him Rama, and he has pretty much taken over the house...with Tanner's supervision, of course.

This young lady is Pauli.  She was born around May of 2015, and appears to be a rough-coated Collie/German Shepherd mix.  A woman who ran a rescue, and also owned a few rentals, found her left behind at one of her rentals when she went to clean it.  She took her home to the rescue, had her vet checked, and tried to find her previous owners with no luck.  So, she put her up for adoption.  A few months later, I ran across the website that happen to have Pauli on it.  I was looking for a playmate for Neeka, and made a call.  A week later, Pauli was introduced to my family of fur-babies.  It took Pauli about a week to figure out the cats, but other than that, she fit right in.  Why someone would up and abandoned her is beyond comprehension, but she has a forever family now.
