My name is Gary Neel.  I served with the 1/8th F.A., 25th Inf. Div. from 1985 to 1988.  I was the Opns. Sgt. and the Charlie "Cobras" First Sergeant.  
It was my pleasure to have served with many outstanding men, however there are a few I feel deserve specific mention.  They are, LTC. Runnels - the Bn. Cdr. He is very active in the 8th's Association/history.  If you have not done so, he would be someone worth contacting.  Another is Capt. Mike Madden - Bn. S-3.  Maj. Bailey was also the Bn. S-3 during my service there.  The last is Capt. Jerry (Porty) Roth, “C” Btry. CDR.  During the tenure of these men the 1/8th F.A. had many "first" accomplishments, primarily under the direction of LTC. Runnels.
