The 1st Dragoons were established in April of 1833. On July 27th of 1861 they became known as the 1st. US Cavalry.
Today, the 1st consists of men, women, children and horses (though some consider them as children) who dedicate their free time to research and honor those who fought in the ranks during the bloodiest conflict on American soil.
