The race known as the Eber live in the 82 Eridani system. The Ebers were once a threiving species which controled several star systems and maintained numerous colonies. The species however engaged in an inter-racial thermonuclear war which threw the Eber civilization into ruins.

Today the Ebers civilization and level of technology is ruffly equivelant to that of human 17th century standars. Mankind maintains two enclaves on the Eber world of Kormoran which have aided the Ebers in their struggle to regain their pre-war technological level.
