Here's designed an applet animates/illustrates the ATM Forum 3.1 Signalling  protocol for  point-to-point connections. One may establish (and clear) connections of each type, observing the message flow between endpoints and the network in an animation canvas, as well as perusing the detailed message contents (both raw hex and interpreted) in several emulated protocol analyzer views. The protocol itself is specified by the ATM Forum with reference to Q.2931 Recommendation.
