Exploration: Finding the Ore.

This first photo shows one method we use for locating valuable ore deposits. When we have a likely target, we take in this little test plant to collect a bulk sample, while at the same time collecting information on the ore, the geology, structure, and so on. This portable plant is fully self-contained, and has a feed hopper, a shaking screen, and a sluicebox for the concentrate recovery. We built a small resevoir and recycled our water.

This here is one big ol' metal detector.

And here we are rooting around in the mud. Actually this is another exploration trench. When we are finished, we fill the trenches back in, and respread the topsoil and vegetation over the top so that the land will quickly recover.
