More Scenery

It is truly unfortunate that these pictures do not do justice to the awesome grandeur of the South Side of Denali, as the area is known. The government wants to pave a road in this beautiful wilderness to allow 275,000 people per year to visit in tour buses. We think it is a stupid way to waste $70,000,000 (U.S. Dollars) of your tax money, and a terrible waste of a good thing.

This is the Tokositna Glacier (the light brown valley), which is covered by rock and soil. You can barely make out Denali (Mt. McKinley) on the left. This is near the spot the U.S. Park Service wants to build a hotel.

Next we have a view of a pretty mountain valley in the head of Ruby Gulch and Wonder Gulch. It was in this area that 3 people were murdered in 1939. This is now in Denali State Park.

And finally, here is a view, which I sortof messed up, of Mt. Foraker and Mt. Hunter, as seen from the top of Gopher Mountain looking westward.
