This Freshman I believe to be a "6F6" console, but it may also be a "6F5". Built in speaker, integral battery shelf with front panel, and three tuning knobs, as well as the two filament controls that served as volume control. This radio does work well, and I was told that it was in use for the original broadcast of "War of the Worlds".
This is a Freshman Masterpiece Model K, which dates from around 1927. In previous years, the Freshman radios were like other "TRF" types; using three knobs for the three RF stages, yet in the Model K, it is now one knob turning all three tuning condensors together with bronze belts. Also by 1927 the trademark style of condensor with basketweave coil attached to the back is now gone, in favor of the more conventional RF coil style.
