Model: Schmidt Coupling Modeller: Edmundo Veiga, Rio de Janeiro Notes: The Schmidt Offset Coupling is a mechanical device designed to keep coupled two parallel axis capable of turning within the limits restricted to the dimensions of the coupling. It allows variable centres between input and output shafts. It has been used, for instance, in a printing press to maintain a rotating axis bearing on a fluctuating platform - the top of a stack of sheets that decreases in height due to paper consumption.
