Two years ago you went beyond

Although it seems like yesterday

You were with me all my life

And then you went away

 

I wonder if you think of me

And ever look to see

What’s going on with us down here

And know that I still grieve

 

You weren’t just a "someone"

But the kindest one I know

You always cared about everyone

And everyone loved you so.

 

It haunts me that I could not watch

As you lay there in your bed

I should have held you hand in mine

And cradled your sweet head

It pained me way too much for me

To see you lying there.
