Step Out My Child
I'm out on a ship in the open sea.
"I'm sorry Lord, I was running from
Thee. What can I do now? I steer
Not this boat and as you know, Lord,
Man does not float. Help me Lord,
What should I do? I can't seem
To find a way back to You".
"Step out, my child, step out
And repeat after Me.
I can do all things through Christ
Who strengthens Me".
"But Lord, I will drown
In this watery grave".
"Oh my child, take comfort,
I'm here, be brave".
"But Lord, isn't their a safer way?"
"Listen to My word, to what I say
Step out, my child, step out and
Repeat after Me. I can do all things
Through Christ who strengthens me".
"Oh Lord, please give me an easier
Plan, for I will drown. I am but a
Simple man. I'm not Moses bringing
Water from a rock. I'm not David killing
A bear to protect his flock". How can
I be on the same level as them? After
My life of committing such sin".
"My child, did you kill a man
Out of anger? Or steal a man's
Wife, and send him to danger.
So he could die out of loyalty
To you? So, are these the heroes
You Knew? All they did, was trust
Me to be true. They believed Me when
I forgave them. Out of love I must
Tell you yet again".
"Step out, my child, step out
and repeat after me. I can do
All things through Christ
Who strengthens Me".
"Thank You, Lord, now I understand.
Since this is Your will, Your Holy plan.
I will step out and keep my eyes on You.
For it is all a simple man can hope to do".
