Making my own clear corner lenses was pretty damn tough. If it weren't for Scott's 97 Honda Civic Page I probably wouldn't have been able to do it. See his site for a very informative how to. I'm not sure if this method applies to the '99 Civic's or not since their lights are different.
I do have a few pointers to offer in addition to his method. A tool for removing door panels is a lot more helpful than just a regular screwdriver. It gives about an inch of flat surface to pry with. As you pry the glue apart, you can use a heat gun and the glue will contract making it easier to remove. Just be VERY CAREFUL AND TAKE YOUR TIME! I screwed up on mine a little bit because I was too agressive cleaning the chrome piece with windex and rubbed off a small amount of the chrome finish. This mod should take about four hours or so if you take your time and are very patient.
I no longer have the blue turn signal bulbs installed
in my car since they are illegal in both CA and AZ and I would imagine
the same goes in most states. I discovered this one night when I
was travelling from Chandler, AZ to my hometown of Needles, CA and while
in Parker, just on the border of CA a California officer noticed my bulbs,
flipped a U-turn, followed me across the river into Cali and stopped me
within 1/4 mile of the border to inform me of the law against blue or red
lights visible
from the front of a vehicle. Fortunately the
officer was cool about it and I got off with a warning. I now
have Raybrig hyper bulbs installed which look WAY better than the normal
clear bulbs. They weren't cheap at $9 a bulb but the effect looks
pretty sweet.
