of being a child
waiting with anticipation
.....staring in awe
as I approached the
'twinkling' tree on
Christmas morn'!

Remembering the morning
as a small lil child
When Mom woke me up
sayin "LOOKIE OUTSIDE!"
I looked and I saw,
but not really knowing ,
the 'MAGIC' that would come
from the hours of snowing.

After dressing in layers
with a sock on each hand
I hit the door running
'Oops'! On my hiney I land!
Up again and more cautious
I trudge and I play
If Mom would've allowed
I'd a stayed out ALL DAY!

But Mom always knew best
and made us take breaks
to warm us with hot cocoa
and spend the time it takes
Once warmed and toasty
Outside we bound
Mom gathering snow
For the recipe she found

Wow! What a blessing!
Hmmm....such a treat
Would have never thought
fun could ever be that sweet!
And the lil' ball Dad rolled
that got ever so large!
That very next morning
Turned into "FROSTY" in charge!
