2 eggs
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp. shortening
1 cup milk
3 cups flour (maybe 4 )
4 heaping tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
Pinch of Ginger
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon

Cream shortening, egg and sugar, add milk and dry ingredients.
Use the fourth cup of flour to roll the donuts out with.
Cut with a donut cutter.
(Fat has to be very hot)
Use crisco oil, and always "rest" fat after each batch is fried. Allow fat to get hot again.
Drain doughnuts on brown paper and sugar while still warm.
