Dumb news from Edmonson County, Kentucky:
ROBBERY VICTIM AT MINIT MART
 minimar2.jpg
                                                  Minit Mart

story and photo by Dona Dunkelberger, Gimlet reporter [verbatim]

On Friday, September 8, 2017,  at 1:02 p.m.,  local  dispatch  re-
ceived  a  call  about  a  robbery  victim   at  the  Minit  Mart  in
Brownsville.  They were advised that there were three assailants
fleeing the scene and headed toward the car wash on foot. When
the local police arrived, they did a quick search for the assailants
in the area and then returned to the Minit Mart to speak with the
victim, Emily Lashley.

Lashley stated that Hailey Gertiser  had gotten into a fight with
her inside the store and that she (Emily) dropped her wallet du-
ring the scuffle. The store employees broke up the fight but not
before  Brett Higgs  picked up the wallet off the floor  and  fled
with Zachery Hogan and [wait for drum roll to end] Hailey Ger-
tiser.   The wallet was later found empty of all cash near the car
wash.

Zachery Hogan was later seen lying in a ditch on Highway 70 by
Edmonson County Deputy Sheriff  Jordan Jones,  and a foot pur-
suit  ensued.  Hogan was able to elude Jones  in  a  wooded  area.
Brett  Higgs  later returned to the Minit Mart  and turned himself
in,  stating he felt he hadn't done anything wrong.

The police are interested in talking with both Haley Gertiser and
Zachery Hogan. If anyone sees them or knows their whereabouts
please contact the Edmonson County Dispatch by phone at   270-
597-2729.

Brownsville Police Department and Chief Jeff Jewell would like
to thank all the agencies and personnel for their help.

Disturbance leads to cocaine arrest in Rocky Hill
                                                             [Edmonson Voice, verbatim]

barryjam.jpg
A  disturbance  call  in Rocky Hill has led to two being arrested on
felony drug charges.  According to the Edmonson County Sheriff's
Office, deputies responded to a call from  Fairview  Church  Road
Tuesday evening, September 12,  where a homeowner was said to
have attempted to make two individuals leave his property.

Deputies  said that upon arrival,  it appeared one of the individuals,
Jamie Henderson, (33) of Bowling Green, appeared to be under the
influence of drugs. Officials said that upon a probable cause search
of  the  vehicle,  a bag full of needles,  some which were uncapped,
was discovered in her vehicle. The bag also contained a white pow-
dered substance that Henderson's passenger, Barry Rutherford, (39),
of Alvaton told deputies was heroin.

Henderson was arrested and charged with Public intoxication  of  a
controlled substance-excluding alcohol,   Possession  of  controlled
substance-first degree-first offense (heroin), Wanton endangerment-
first degree (police officer), and drug paraphernalia-buy/possess.
