Johnny K. Took this180 B&C Buck in the early days of a ten day hunt. He had no complaints about the long wait in camp until he could return to Pennsylvania.
Dick Jobe of Pittsburg PA. is another of the spike camp guys. His buck topped out at 190 B&C. Dick and his son Jeff hunt Saskatchewan frequently.
Forksville Pa. is a picturesque little village nestled in a flat-bottom valley and surrounded by mountains. I hunted the area for ten years before finding my own place in the hills. Spike bucks were the norm for those days.
This is one of many bucks I took in the mountains of Pennsylvania around Forksville. Vic and Alice Cott initially took me in as a "hunter" but later refused to accept the $11.00 per day for food and bed. For the next ten years they catered to me like a son and took no other hunters in. I spent all of my off-work weekends with them and never realized how important these two mountain folk were in my life until they were gone.
