This is the last major piece that I did. Here again I used select red oak that was logged off my place upstate in 1980-81.I keep hunting books, maps and related items in it. My hunting videos are in the drawers.
The different shade of blue on the right side is a film developers mistake -- it doesn't really exist.
This was my first attempt at "boat building." It was quite a learning experience for me: I steamed the side panels for the right curvature and then added thin hardwood strips on top that were shaped with dry heat from an industrial heat gun used to cure fiberglass pipe joints.
